CMD Appeal on Occasion of 25th Anniversary of Black January
Caucasian Muslims Office issued a message on the occasion of the bloody events of January 20, 1990.
The appeal calls the victims of the January tragedy "fighters for the restoration of statehood."
Perpetrators of those events were the former Soviet leadership, which has not received adequate international political and legal assessment, the statement says.
The absence of such an assessment is one of the reasons that so far the Karabakh conflict has not found its fair solution, the document noted.
"Liberation of Karabakh would be the best monument to the memory of martyrs on January 20," the appeal says. -05D-
