Aynur Imranova: I Am Interrogated Daily
The investigative journalist Aynur Imranova after the arrest of her colleague Khadija Ismailova (December 6) is almost daily questioned by the prosecutor as a witness.
As Imranova told Turan, she is alternately questioned in the Investigation Department for Serious Crimes Prosecutor General's Office and the Prosecutor's Office of Baku.
Since 2015, interrogation has become more frequent and intense. Thus, she has been questioned in the Baku Prosecutor's Office already 7 times.
"Every day I have to give evidence for 8 hours. In the last 4 days my condition has deteriorated twice, and my blood pressure rises to 200. The doctor warned me about the possibility of a brain hemorrhage. I told the investigation about this. However, I have been again summoned for questioning today," Imranova said.
Direct pressure on the journalist is not provided. "However, the lengthy interrogation for 8 hours every day is torture," said Imranova.
The theme of the interrogation is the work of journalists and NGOs on projects by foreign donors.
Earlier, the prosecutor's office issued a statement that dozens of NGOs violated the law in the implementation of these projects. Now, apparently, the investigation is looking for evidence of this. -03B-
