Counsel about Investigation of Murder of Journalist R. Aliyev
The lawyer Asabali Mustafayev met with the investigator leading the case on the death of the journalist Rasim Aliyev, who died in hospital after a brutal beating by a group of persons.
The lawyer told Turan he presented two petitions to the investigator: for access to the criminal case, and bringing those who attacked the journalist on charges of robbery, as they stole money and phone of the reporter.
Against those who beat Aliyev there was initiated a criminal case under article 126 (causing bodily harm that caused the death) of the Criminal Code, as a football player Javid Huseynov is charged only with the failure to report a crime.
The lawyer believes that the charges are not properly qualified against Huseynov and he should be charged under Article 120, as the organizer of the murder.
"Five people beating Rasim Aliyev were sent by Javid Huseynov.
Sending five people "to talk" means that they are just for the purpose of punishment," said Mustafayev.
The investigator assured the lawyer that the investigation will be objective and the perpetrators will be punished.
* Recall that Rasim Aliyev was savagely beaten on August 8 by the relatives of the soccer player Javid Huseynov because he exposed on Facebook writings criticizing the behavior of the latter. With heavy injuries the journalist was taken to City Clinical Center N1, where he died a day later. -05B06-

However, questions have arisen about the legitimacy of the group, as an internet search yields little evidence of its existence beyond scattered mentions.

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
