Elchin Gasimov, Deputy chairman of the movement "Muslim unity", is charged under 13 Articles of the Criminal Code
On 23 April the term preventive measure - arrest in respect of the deputy chairman of the movement "Muslim unity" Elchin Gasimov was extended another three months. At the same time, he was indictedon 11 other Articles of the Criminal Code, according to a lawyer Elnur Nabiev. So, along with the same charges under the Article 221.2.2 (hooliganism with resisting the authorities) and 315.1 (violence against a government representative) of the Criminal Gasimov is now also charged under the Articles: 214.2.1 (terrorism in an organized group), 214.2.3 (terrorism with the use of firearms weapons), 214-2 (open calls for terrorism), 220.2 (incitement to riot and disobedience to the legitimate demands of the authorities), 228.3 (illegal circulation of weapons in an organized criminal group), 228.4 (illegal carrying of cold steel and gas cylinders ), 233 (organization and participation in actions promoting infringement of a social order), 278 (violent seizure of power), 279.1 (creation or participation in illegal armed groups), 281.2 (participation in the armed rebellion in an organized group) and 283.2. 3 (incitement to religious hatred in an organized group) of the Criminal Code. The lawyer explained that Gasimovwas brought tojustice in the case of Thale Bagirzade, the leader of "Muslim unity" Movement and others arrested during a special operation in the village of Nardaran in November 2015. According to the lawyer, Gasimov rejected all accusations. The decision to extend the arrest will be appealed. Total in this case 71 people were arrested. -06D-

Last night, three earthquakes occurred along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with magnitudes of 4.8, 3.0, and 3.8, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Service of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported no information about any destruction or casualties as a result of the earthquakes.
