Journalist Javid Shiraliyev transferred to the prison hospital
Baku/21.09.16/Turan: The health of the chief editor of the portal www.7gun.az xəbər Javid Shiraliyev sharply deteriorated in the Ganja jail where he is serving his term, and he was taken to Baku Medical Institution of the Ministry of Justice, according to Zahira Shiraliyeva, the mother of the arrested. She said that Javid was arrested for press coverage of the arbitrariness of officials. Z.Shiraliyeva said that her son had complained recently of dizziness, severe headaches. However, she recalled that on 10 August at a meeting of the Court of Appeal in protest he sewed up his mouth. The woman concerned for her son's health.
The chief editor of the portal www.7gun.az xəbər Javid Shiraliyev was sentenced on May 22, 2016 to five years imprisonment by the Serious Crimes Court of Ganja on charges of extortion by threats (Article 182.2.1 and 182.2.4 of the Criminal Code.)
Shiraliyev was detained by the Ministry of Internal Affairs on 30 August, 2014, and taken to the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (GUBOP.)
Lawyer Zabil Qahramanov told Turan earlier, that the trial court could not prove Shiraliyev’s guilt, and all indications are based on the statements of one person - Shafiga Khankishiyeva, which has problems with the justice system.
Proceedings in the Court of Appeal was postponed for an indefinite time before the appeal hearing in the Supreme Court, against the refusal to hold a partial judicial investigation in the Supreme Court.—0---
