Press Review August 13, 2018

A look at the ongoing youth policy, the likelihood of pressure on the manat, and the absence of the general plan of Baku are the leading topics of today's press.

The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about the youth policy implemented in the country. Special attention was paid to youth during the reign of Heydar Aliyev and this policy continues successfully to this day. The author writes about the participation of young people in the formation of civil society. Currently, more than 300 youth organizations are registered with the Justice Ministry, the Youth Fund under the President of the country is operating, and the State Program for Supporting the Development of Youth for 2017-2021 has been adopted.

The website Modern.az discusses with the MP Ali Masimli the tense relations of the USA with Iran and Turkey and the accompanying processes, and their possible influence on the economy of Azerbaijan.

The author notes that since August 7, sanctions have been imposed on the extractive industry and the sale of carpets, and in November, sanctions against Iran will be further tightened.

The price of oil may depend on the processes occurring in the world, the trade war and other factors. All these factors can influence the part of the Azerbaijani economy that is more integrated into the world economy.

The connection of the financial market of Azerbaijan with the world financial market is weak, the MP notes. For this reason, the ongoing financial processes will not directly affect the financial market of Azerbaijan.

The newspaper Novoye Vremya publishes material on the confusion in the construction of the capital.

International experts who will participate in the development of the new Baku urban development plan will be surprised that for 20 years Baku has been demolished, constructed, laid new roads, constructed overpasses and renewed communication lines without an approved general plan. -0----
