Problems Created in Agdash for Collection of Signatures in Favor of Igbal Aghazadeh
The members of the team of the Umid party chairman Igbal Aghazadeh, who is running a candidate in the 90th Agdash District in re-election to the Parliament on June 18 faced problems in collecting voters' signatures in his favor.
As deputy chairman of the party Elman Abbasov told Turan, a group of unknown people widely persecuted the activists collecting signatures and demanded that they stop the campaign in favor of Aghazadeh. At the same time they not only threatened the representatives of Aghazadeh, but also intimidated the voters.
"We were told that we should not get signatures from there, as they had their own candidate," said Abbasov.
In his view, the pressure on the representatives is backed by the district authorities.
At the same time, he pointed out that the first deputy head of the Executive Power of the Agdash region and the chairman of the local organization of the ruling party New Azerbaijan Javid Osmanov is running for MP in Agdash.
Abbasov said the incident with representatives of Umid was reported to the duty service 102 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Central Election Commission, but so far no measures have been taken.
"We hope that, after the authorities take the necessary measures against the illegal and outrageous actions and we will continue to collect signatures in a quiet environment," said Abbasov.
Note that at the elections of November 1, 2015 Aghazadeh ran for the 35th Third Khatai electoral district. Despite the fact that he submitted the protocols on the voting results, attesting to his victory, another candidate was declared the MP. -06B--
