Ramin Hajili is again accused of fraud and arrested
Baku/12.07.21 / Turan: Former head of various youth and public structures, Ramin Hajily was arrested on fraud charges. He has been under investigation on organizing trips of citizens abroad with a view iof obtaining "a political asylum," the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan said in a statement.
The investigation found that the head of "No Border Travel Agency" LLC Ramin Hajily, as well as the chairman of the public association "Scientific and Cultural Development of Youth," Sardar Iskenderov, officials of "Yes Travel" LLC Sarkhan Abdullayev, Uzeyir Bagirli, the head of "HMH Baku Travel" LLC Narmina Dadashova, Zakir Amirov, Aziz Safaraliyev and Akif Asadov forged documents for citizens to obtain visas to the United States, Canada and European countries.
It ought to be noted that bank statements, property documents, movable and immovable property were forged for money.
To obtain a political asylum, "summonses" to law enforcement agencies, medical certificates of injuries allegedly made under police pressure were falsified.
Note that Hajily who had previously been convicted of similar acts, as well as the above-mentioned persons brought as defendants under Article 178.3.1 (fraud as a part of an organized group) and other articles of the Criminal Code, gave a written undertaking not to leave a country.
At present Hajily is arrested. At one time he headed the Dalga youth movement, the European Movement, and was represented in the governing bodies of the Democratic Reform Party and the Umid Party.
Note that In 2017, a criminal case was launched against him. On October 12 the same year, the Nasimi court sentenced him to 2 years of probation for forgery of documents. He was charged with making false documents to travel to the United States – 03D06-
