Service facilities closed in Nakhchivan
It has been 10 days since 95% of the hairdressing salons, women's beauty salons, cafes and canteens closed in Nakhchivan.
As owners of commercial buildings say, for many years their work has been based on the authorization of the authorities. But now they are required to submit new orders on the use of their facilities.
Employers argue that the ad hoc group of officials from the administration of the city, the Nakhchivan Supreme Mejlis and the Ministry of Economic Development goes to sites and closes them.
For new orders from the owners of the objects they require from 5 to 50 thousand manat in cash (depending on the profitability of the object). Those who do not agree or can not pay a specified sum, are closed. For this reason, the employees of these facilities are out of work. This situation is surprising tourists. For example, a visitor from Ukraine Viktor Ivanov told Turan: «On some days I can not find an open barber shop to get a haircut. The city seems as if dead. I arrived for 10 days, but I have to return sooner." A guest from Iran, Zahra said that she could not find a cafe for Iftar (a usual Ramadan meal of Muslims).
Local civil society activists believe that such corruption accelerates the process of migration from the region.
In the executive power of Nakhchivan they confirmed the closure of sites, explaining it so that the documents of the entrepreneurs are not in order. To the question of how these objects functioned for many years, the administration has not responded. -22B-

Amid the bustling scenes of this year’s COP29 climate conference, a protest against whaling and deep-sea mining, organized by a group calling itself the FINS Initiative, drew significant attention from delegates and observers. However, questions have arisen about the legitimacy of the group, as an internet search yields little evidence of its existence beyond scattered mentions.

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
