Sheikh Criticizes Protesters in Front of Ministry of Education
The Caucasian Muslims Office issued a statement condemning the action of a group of believers on October 5 in front of the Ministry of Education.
"In the absence of ban on the hijab in Azerbaijan, the issue is artificially inflated," is said in the statement.
"We believe that the rally under the banner of freedom of hijab is a provocation aimed against the people and the state, and intended to destabilize the country, creating conflict in the society. This is a dangerous manifestation, and we regret that some of the forces under the cover of Islam use it.
By bringing the issue of hijab on the streets, these forces are using it to attack the image of Azerbaijan," is said in the statement.
The statement authors encourage the citizens to condemn the holding of such shares, as the authorities have created all the necessary conditions for the preservation of the national and religious, moral and ethical values. "We must mobilize to prevent disrespect to state laws. Religious leaders in their sermons have to convince the faithful that truth," is said in the statement.
Recall that about 200 believers protested, which turned into clashes with police. At the same time, more than 70 believers were arrested and dozens of police and worshipers were injured.
32 people detained by the police have been brought to justice. -04D-
