State program to combat thalassemia
By the decree of the President of the country, the "State program to combat thalassemia for 2015-2020" has been confirmed. The Ministry of Health will be responsible for coordination of measures for its execution. The program reads that the number of diseased with thalassemia is 300,000. Most of them are in Sheki, Agdash, Masalli, Sabirabad, Oguz, and Goychay. The Program provides for the strengthening of measures for the treatment of patients, and to prevent its spread.
In particular, regulations to identify carriers of the disease and the drawing up a single e-cards, introduction of modern methods of treatment, and the provision of appropriate hospitals with necessary equipment and facilities, training will be prepared and taken. -02D-
