Supreme Court Did Not Release Seriously Ill Abulfaz Bunyadov
Baku / 12.06.19 / Turan: The Supreme Court dismissed the cassation appeal of Abulfaz Bunyadov convicted on the Nardaran events.
On the eve of the consideration of the case, a group of human rights defenders, activists and intellectuals appealed to the country's leadership to help release Bunyadov due to poor health - limb paralysis, hepatitis C, and intestinal infection.
However, the call of the democratic public was not heard, despite the threat to the life of the convicted.
Recall that during the special operation in Nardaran in November 2015, Bunyadov received bullet wounds that injured his spine. Despite being bedridden, he was detained for several months.
Subsequently, the preventive measure was changed to house arrest. However, the court sentenced him to 15 years in prison on charges of attempting to forcibly change the constitutional order, terrorism, etc. -06D-

Amid the bustling scenes of this year’s COP29 climate conference, a protest against whaling and deep-sea mining, organized by a group calling itself the FINS Initiative, drew significant attention from delegates and observers. However, questions have arisen about the legitimacy of the group, as an internet search yields little evidence of its existence beyond scattered mentions.

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
