"Surprise" from European Games
On the occasion of the first European Games in Baku the City Executive Power appealed to the housing office and housing cooperatives to submit before January 31 lists of residents of buildings along the route of sporting events and facilities that will host the European Games.
Car owners in these areas will receive special travel signs from the Operating Committee for the Games of free movement.
The report of Baku City Hall on January 15 provides an extensive list of streets, avenues and squares that fall under this category. They all are key highways in the capital. In practice, this means that during the Games (from 15 to 28 June 2015) the movement of private and most of the public transport almost all over the city will be paralyzed.
How the residents of the city will move is unknown. -16D-

Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
