The head of Masalli district filed a lawsuit against the journalist
Baku/12.06.19/Turan: Today"s Masalli District Court held a preparatory meeting on the suit of the head of this district, Rafil Huseynov, against the head of the 7GUN.az website, Javid Shiraliyev.
At the beginning of the meeting, Judge Gabil Bahmanov considered the disqualification of a journalist to court and dismissed him.
"I am against consideration of the case in Masalli court. The realities are such that the heads of district administrations have an influence on the heads of local law-enforcement agencies," Shiraliyev told Turan.
At the same time, the representatives of the plaintiff did not participate in the meeting. The next meeting is scheduled for July 13, 2019.
The plaintiff believes that Shiraliyev insulted his honor, dignity and caused damage to business reputation and demands compensation for 3,000 manat.
According to Shiraliyev, the reason for filing a lawsuit was the publication on their website and facebook of a number of articles about bribery, corruption, social problems, and unemployment of Masalli region.
According to the journalist, the head of the region unhappy with the publications that bribery and corruption occur under his leadership.
In addition, Shiraliyev said that the son of the head of the region, committed an accident with human victims, and was not brought to justice. The journalist declares that he his words are based on concrete facts and evidence, and he intends to defend his case in court.
