Weather Surprises Continue – Heavy Snow in Tovuz
Unusually cold weather has remained in Azerbaijan in the past day. So, heavy snow fell in the mountain and foothill areas of the Lesser Caucasus. The snow depth reached 55 cm in Tovuz, 52 cm in Dashkesan and 42 cm in Gadabay.
In the Greater Caucasus most snow fell in the mountainous part of the Guba-Gusar region - 18-20 cm.
In the rest of the country there have been heavy rains that continue now, forecasters of the Ministry of Environment said.
In Baku and Absheron rain is expected in the morning and evening with a north-westerly wind. The temperature will be + 5 + 7 degrees at night and + 9 + 13 by day.
In areas of the country the temperature will be similar. In the mountains it will be up to 5 degrees below zero at night, and 0 degrees in the afternoon.
Apparently, the forecasts of international organizations that this winter will be the most severe one in the past 100 years are very real. However, the Ministry of Ecology of Azerbaijan states that the temperature will be in the range of climatic standard. -02D-
