"Yeni Musavat" will not close and started fundraising
Start was given to the marathon in favor of the opposition newspaper "Yeni Musavat" . According to its editor Rauf Arifoglu, it's a protest action related to the obstacles caused by distributors. In accordance with the decision of the Chief of the Baku Metro, Tagi Akhmedov, immediately after the presidential election on October 9, the sale of the newspaper was banned in subway stations. Selling of newspapers in the state-owned kiosks, "Gasid" is banned. Moreover , street selling of newspapers is also prohibited.
The editor believes that after the closure of the main opposition newspapers, "Yeni Musavat" and "Azadliq", the authorities will have no arguments to speak about pluralism and political tolerance.
For Tuesday, the number of subscribers of the newspaper as part of a subscription marathon exceeded thousand of people.
"The authorities have got 99 % of the media. Due to the absence of free economy and advertising market , the rest of the media is on the verge of extinction. After the presidential elections the authorities started attacks on the remaining opposition media, and stifle them by lawsuits and prohibiting selling.
After the free media dies, there will be nothing for local or international organizations to monitor," said the director of the Turan news agency Mehman Aliyev .
Asking the question when the tyranny of officials and courts against media will stop, the Head of the Sociopolitical Department of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, Ali Hasanov, repeatedly stated that "according to the law, we have no right to interfere in the affairs of courts."
On Friday, the leadership of the “Yeni Musavat” announced the suspension of the publication because of financial problems, but today, the newspaper again was issued. -17D—

Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property.
