Musabekov: you should not quarrel with America

The political scientist, member of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Relations Rasim Musabekov does not agree with the accusations against the US, which are heard in the last few days in the media from the  officials of the pro-government figures of the country. "The Azerbaijani public opinion extremely aroused widespread message by APA , referring to the confidential material that a number of US agencies involved with the government are planning campaign against Azerbaijan.

Taking the advantage of the Baku First European Games, it is expected to unleash a campaign to discredit the Azerbaijani government in connection with the infringement of democracy, human rights and corruption. It is alleged that this campaign is coordinated by the Office of the Secretary of State John Kerry.

It is difficult to say how accurate  is this information. In any case, the US embassy in Azerbaijan denied them categorically. However, the local media, a number of politicians, NGO leaders, experts condemned such actions," Musabekov wrote on his page to Facebook.

Although it is clear that Kerry supports Armenians , it is enough to recall his authorship

in  the Section 907 of the Congress in the early 90's, as well as lobbying for US recognition of the so-called "genocide" of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire,  and it does not worth to quarrel with the United States because of this.

"Does it worth  because of the positions of some, albeit very important, departments and people to declare the United States almost any enemy Azerbaijan? Yes, the Armenian lobbyists are traditionally strong in the State Department and on Capitol Hill. But the fact is that the position of Turkey and Azerbaijan are not less strong in the Ministry of Energy, the Pentagon, intelligence agencies (CIA, DIA, NSA), who are working closely with us on the issue of combating terrorism.

Just the position the State Department and the Congress is public, and works closely with Azerbaijan and Turkey, government agencies usually operate in private, but have a significant impact," emphasizes Musabekov. It is crucial that the national interests of the United States and Azerbaijan do not face, and mix well, said the parliamentarian.

"Artificial entering into our relationship tension is detrimental to both sides. Therefore, you should exercise restraint in public assessments to maintain confidential dialogue, a willingness to listen to arguments driven.

Preconceived persons in American leadership come and go, and the United States remain in the foreseeable future, the only superpower, a partnership is  important for any country that wants to develop its economy and to solve complex security problems,"  wrote in conclusion Musabekov. -06D-
