Vanyan and Hasanov left, entrusting peace to Azerbaijanis and Armenians
Yesterday the day ended with two important events for me. Unexpectedly, at the age of 50, the peacemaker Avaz Hasanov, well-known in Azerbaijan and abroad, died. He personally, alone, did a lot to restore good relations between peoples. His contribution to the return of Azerbaijanis and Armenians to normal human relations cannot be ignored; this contribution can be compared with the activities of several state ministries combined. The Azerbaijani state did not appreciate the significance of Avaz Hasanov's personality. I am sure it will be, maybe not soon. The death of Avaz and the departure from us this year of his colleague, peacekeeper Georgy Vanyan of the same scale, is perceived as one event. As if they had done their job, peace has come, Armenians and Azerbaijanis are marching towards peace.
Yesterday, the meeting between Putin, Aliyev and Pashinyan ended as successfully as possible.

I welcome respected media representatives, professional and honest journalists from places of detention. July 22 is an important day for journalists, mass media and teachers of Azerbaijan. 149 years ago, Hassan Bey Zardabi, the great educator, the most valuable thinker, the founder of our journalism, lit the first light for society to come out of darkness, giving humanity the newspaper “AKINCI.”

The past day has not clarified the question of why the meeting between Aliyev and Pashinyan in London on July18 broke down. The announcement of the upcoming meeting was made a week ago from Armenian sources, and Baku was silent about the upcoming meeting.

I stand firmly in support of President Ilham Aliyev's vision for Azerbaijan's future.
