A new book by well-known Turkish researcher-journalists has been published

Ankara/13.04.23/Turan: The next research book by Barış Pehlivan and Barış Terkoğlu, two well-known researcher-journalists of modern Turkish journalism, has been published. The book "SS" published by the country's largest publishing house Kırmızı Kedi Publishing is devoted to the investigation of the relations of the current Turkish Minister of Internal Affairs, Süleyman Soylu, with politicians, sect representatives, businessmen, well-known people of the netherworld, both in front of the curtain and behind the curtain.

In 2011, Barış Pehlivan and Barış Terkoğlu, who wrote a book about the activities of the Fethullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) in state institutions, especially in the police and judicial bodies, were arrested and spent 20 months in prison.

The circulation of the first edition of the book "SS" is 100,000 copies. Süleyman Soylu, who entered Turkey's political life as a teenager, worked in the youth organization of True Path Party, one of the most important institutions of the center-right.

Researcher-journalists covered Soylu's relations with people from different strata of society, starting from the first periods of his political career. Allegations about the Minister of Internal Affairs brought to the agenda at different times are presented to the readers in the book together with documents, photos, and newspaper materials.

The chairman of the True Path Party resigned when the party could not pass the 10% national threshold in the parliamentary election held on July 22, 2007, and Süleyman Soylu was elected as the chairman of the party.

The researchers, who gave ample space in the book to the words of Süleyman Soylu, who sharply criticized the Turkish government at that time, especially Prime Minister Tayyip Erdoğan, claimed that certain plans of Western countries were behind the scenes of his rapid rise to the AKP after meeting with Erdoğan in 2012.

Süleyman Soylu, who was given high positions in the governing bodies of the ruling party, gradually increased his influence among the party's supporters, and on November 1, 2015, he was elected as Trabzon deputy and became the Minister of Labor and Social Security.

The fact that Soylu, who was appointed to the position of Minister of Internal Affairs two months after FETÖ attempted a military coup on July 15, 2016, demonstrated his determination to minimize the activities of the terrorist organization in the southeastern regions of the country, and the features of the pressure mechanism created by the Minister on the main opposition party and especially on the leader of the party, free media, and non-governmental organizations, which caused great dissatisfaction, were also investigated in the book.

In the book "SS" written by two important researcher-journalists of Turkey, there are serious claims and accusations about Soylu's protection of illegal organizations and people who committed crimes before and after becoming the Minister of Internal Affairs.

While writing the book, the authors made extensive use of court transcripts, statements of former police officers who were dismissed, press materials, and evidence they obtained. Researcher-journalists, who claim that the Minister of Internal Affairs intervened in the investigation into the death of scientist Necip Hablemitoğlu on December 18, 2002, criticized the Minister's failure to make any statement after the murder of scientist Sinan Ateş on December 30, 2022.

Authors who claim that there are administrators in the ruling party who do not have a good relationship with Süleyman Soylu, emphasize that his relations with sect sheikhs are against the constitution and laws.

In the book, the allegations and facts about the relations of the Minister of Internal Affairs with FETÖ, which are not known to society, have been given a lot of space. While reading the book "SS", we see that the various relationships of the most active and influential figure after President Erdoğan in the last 6.5 years of state administration did not escape the eyes of the authors (among them there is an allegation that a businessman known for his closeness to the ruling party and who raped a young person was patronized by the Minister ).

The Minister of Internal Affairs has not yet made a statement on the issues brought up in the book "SS", which is a new example of research-journalism in Turkey, and most of which are supported by facts.

Süleyman Soylu, who is a candidate from the first row of the third district of Istanbul, is expected to say goodbye to the ministerial chair in the May 14 election.
