Azerbaijani expert book "From" Maidan to the "Maidan"
The book of Azerbaijani journalist and political analyst Shahinoglu "From" Maidan "to" Maidan ", tells the story of the revolutionary events in Ukraine last year, and their impact on the subsequent development of political events in the country and the former Soviet Union. The book was published by publishing house "Qanun" in Russian. On Monday, the presentation of the book and its public discussion was attended by Ambassador of Ukraine in Baku Alexander Mishchenko.
While working on the book, the author visited Ukraine three times, visited Kiev and Donetsk, talked with a lot of politicians, experts, journalists and ordinary citizens, as well as representatives of the Azerbaijani Diaspora. The book studies the problems of the Crimean Tatars, their fate after the annexation of the peninsula by Russia, published an interview with the legendary leader of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jamilev.
One of the consequences of the "Maidan" became a radical change in the geopolitical role of Ukraine, and its transformation into a buffer space that separates not only two integrated systems - Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian, but the two worldviews.
Another chapter of the book, "Baku's response to the Maidan and the future of relations", contains a view on the prospects of development of relations. It is noted the cautious attitude of Baku "Maidan" and the new leadership of Ukraine.
However, if Baku sees that economic cooperation with Kiev promises Azerbaijan economic, and even political benefits, and the Ukrainian leadership takes appropriate steps, then Baku will continue and increase investment in the Ukrainian economy. -06D—
