"Just you wait!" Is Dangerous for Children?
Leadership of Russian State TV-radio channel recognized a popular Soviet cartoon "Just you wait!" as harmful to children's health and development. Therefore, in September, the cartoon will be shown only at nights, according to the radio station "Echo of Moscow". The TV Company believes the cartoon is contrary to the new law on protecting children from harmful information. The law will come into force on September 1.
The studio head of children's television programs, Tatiana Tsivareva, reported the television is working on removal of all "questionable things" from shows and series aired on children's channels.
She did not specify what part of the popular Soviet cartoon is contrary to the new law. It is possible, the issue is about an episode in which a wolf smokes a cigarette, beats other animals, steals and behaves aggressively towards the hare.
The State Duma passed the law “On the protection of children from information harmful to their health and development” in December 2010. It provides a number of measures protecting children from the distribution of printed materials, as well as audio and video materials with pornographic content, including in propaganda form.
Meanwhile, many Russian artists took this news as nonsense, having nothing to do with taking care of children.
Cartoon "Just you wait", filmed in the 70's, was viewed by hundreds of millions for whom it was a favorite series. -02D-
