About 1.7 Billion Invested in Construction
Within two months of this year, investment in the construction sector in Azerbaijan amounted to AZN 1 680.1 million, 38.3% more than in the same period of 2012.
The committee said that the non-oil sector was invested about 1 billion manat. This is a 35.3% increase over the same period last year. Domestic sources account for 65% of investment in fixed assets.
Approximately half of the funds (888 million manat) were used in the construction works. In this case, the cost of construction works increased by almost half.
Since the beginning of the year there has been put into operation about 250 thousand square meters of housing, schools for 1,100 student places, preschools for 242 seats, an outpatient medical department for 130 patients in a shift, a club with 164 seats, and several social and industrial enterprises.

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less. This robust reserve position reflects Azerbaijan's fiscal stability and the government’s strategic economic management.
