Bakcell, Microsoft and High-Tech Park to Support Young Programmers and Startups
Then companies Bakcell, Microsoft Azerbaijan and the government's High-Tech Park are going to develop the skills of young programmers and startups in Azerbaijan and maintain their professional activities. For this the Applab project has been drafted, providing entrepreneurs and developers with powerful tools that can accelerate the implementation of their ideas and help them create innovative and fully operational mobile applications for local and international markets.
Under the project, the young designers have the opportunity to enjoy all the benefits of the new office Applab Bakcell (near the metro station Sahil) equipped with free Internet access, desks and classrooms, as well as to use the most advanced equipment for testing their products.
Furthermore, a dedicated team of specialists from Bakcell and the company Qualcomm gives young designers support in the development and implementation of pilot versions of new mobile applications that meet a wide range of requirements of the local market.
By joining the project, the company Microsoft will provide participants in the high-tech park with the necessary conditions for the use of opportunities of its program BizSpark. Through this global ecosystem, the participants of the project Applab will have the opportunity to use the Microsoft software created for programmers and startups as well as the "cloud" environment and a variety of practical guides in the area of technology and business.
Along with this, the project participants will have direct access to a variety of investors and consultants, and will be able to take advantage of broad marketing opportunities for representation of their programs in the international market.

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
