Baku/10.05.23/Turan:  On May 9, Ukraine's Third Assault Brigade confirmed that the 72nd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces had fled Bakhmut.

This news was first announced by Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of the Wagner mercenary group. The Third Assault Brigade acknowledged the accuracy of Prigozhin's report, stating that their offensive operations in the southwestern outskirts of Bakhmut had resulted in the death of 64 Russian soldiers, including Wagner mercenaries, and the capture of five others.

The Brigade also claimed that another 87 soldiers were on their way. Bakhmut has been a focal point of the conflict between Ukrainian and Russian forces for the past nine months, with Wagner mercenaries serving as the primary shock troops for Russia's attempts to gain control over Donetsk Oblast. Despite their efforts, Ukraine still holds parts of the city, and Russia has only made limited gains in the past nine months.
