Another Member of Kocharyan's Team Can Be Arrested
Baku / 04.08.18 / Turan: Former Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Armen Gevorgyan is charged with obstruction of justice. His criminal case is merged with the case of March 1, 2008 events, Radio Liberty reported.
"It's about putting pressure on a judge of the Constitutional Court, when the opposition protested the results of the 2008 presidential election so that the judge decided in favor of Serzh Sargsyan winning the election," the official representative of the Investigative Service of Armenia said.
Gevorgyan has been taken a written undertaking not to leave.
Armen Gevorgyan, during the reign of former Armenian Presidents Robert Kocharian and Serzh Sargsyan, held high state posts, and during the events of March 1, 2008 he was Secretary of the National Security Council.
Earlier, the head of the Investigative Service, Sasun Khachatryan, said Armen Gevorgyan and another official tried to exert pressure on the Constitutional Court judge Valery Poghosyan.
Gevorgyan is charged under part 3 of Art. 332. - obstruction of justice. For this crime, he can be sentenced to up to 6 years of imprisonment. -02D-
