Ilham Aliyev Inspects Rocket Complexes Polonaise and LORA
Baku / 11.06.8 / Turan: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening ceremony of the "N" military unit of the country's Armed Forces, the presidential press service reported.
The head of state inspected the new types of weapons that had come under the control of the Armed Forces in Azerbaijan.
Judging from the photos distributed by the Ministry of Defense, among the new weapons are the Polonaise missile systems of the Belarusian production.
One combat vehicle of this system can simultaneously strike points at eight targets at a range of 50 to 200 km. The deviation from the given coordinates at the maximum range of fire does not exceed 30 meters, since each of the eight missiles can have a separate flight task. Thus, eight different goals are struck with one volley: command posts, ammunition depots, a cluster of equipment and manpower.
The missile has a reflective surface, high speed and performs an anti-missile maneuver in the air, overcoming the enemy's air defense system.
The Long-Range Artillery Missile LORA operational-tactical missile system was also presented to the head of state.
Developer: Israel Aircraft Industries - IAI (Israel)
The LORA system has a single-stage solid-propellant ballistic missile and can be used both in ground and sea basing systems, to destroy infrastructure elements (communication nodes, power plants, etc.) and air defense batteries in the depth of the enemy territory.
The mass of each of the four missiles of the complex is 1.7 tons, the mass of the warhead is 400 kg (high-explosive fragmentation) and 600 kg (penetrating).
The range of flight is 400 km, the height of the trajectory is 45 km, the control system is GPS, and the accuracy is 10 m.-016D-
