Baku/24.05.19/Turan: An activist, Ramin Hajilii, who participated in a protest rally in front of the Russian embassy in Azerbaijan in connection with the arrest of Azerbaijani journalist Fuad Abbasov in Moscow, was taken to the police.
Hajili told Radio Liberty that he was taken to the Baku City Police Department.
"I was in the office for about half an hour, and during that time I was received by the head of the social security department of the organization, Nurulla Mamedhanov, who asked for the reasons for holding the action. I gave him an official appeal and said that we want to restore the rights of our compatriot Fuad Abbasov detained in Moscow and restore him," he said.
The police said that the Azerbaijani state is dealing with the issue of Fuad Abbasov and is working to restore his rights.
"After the preventive conversation, I learned that 12 protesters were taken to the 20th police station of Nasimi district. After about an hour, everyone was released," he said.
Turan failed to get information about what happened in the Ministry of Internal Affairs failed.
In the past three days, protests in connection with the violation of the rights of journalist Fuad Abbasov have been held in front of the Russian Embassy. He was detained in Moscow on May 16 and was subject to violence by the police. According to his lawyer, Abbasov can be deported to Azerbaijan on May 28. - 0-
