TSMVOD : Avtandil Mammedli statements do not reflect our position
The Centre for Monitoring Elections and Democracy Training ( TSMVOD ) reported about the pressure on observers collaborating with them on the eve of the presidential election and on the election day.
So, two days before the election 41 observers in Ganja , Guba and Baku under pressure left TSMVOD .
TSMVOD concerns political pressure and persecution as the objectives of weakening supervision of the electoral process .
In this regard, TSMVOD notes that the statement by the observer of Guba Avtandil Mammedli to the pro-government news agency APA on the monitoring of elections on October 9 does not reflect the position of TSMVOD .
This person worked with TSMVOD in the past two years, but in recent days, citing the political pressure exerted on him, he refused to be an observer .
TSMVOD also notes with regret that publishing the statement by Mammedli, APA did not inquire about the position of TSMVOD on the matter.
As a result, APA has become a party in the campaign of discrimination against independent NGOs.
Note that Mammadov said that in the elections in the northern region of the country there were no violations of the law and reported the results of a vote on a number of areas, according to which for Aliyev were filed more than 80 percent of the vote .
TSMVOD also states that as a professional watchdog assesses not cast votes for the candidates, but the legal quality of the electoral process.
TSMVOD notes that on election day violations of the law were observed, and in particular of ballot stuffing in the ballot box , pressure on voters, and voting of unauthorized persons in the precincts.
However, there was pressure on people, who were watching these violations and, in some cases, they were removed from the polling stations .
October 10 TSMVOD will unveil primary evaluation report of the elections.
TSMVOD with 794 observers monitored the elections with methodology based on statistics. -06D -
