The term "opposition" has already become an integral part of the concept, no, not "democracy", but "state". That is, where there is government, there, along with the government, the constitution should guarantee all rights and oppositions. Despite the shortcomings, over 70 years of the existence of a multi-party system in the country, Turkey tried to comply with this condition. Even if against the background of tremendous pressure and threats, the place occupied by the opposition in public administration continues to remain important.
For example, even despite the fact that the leader of the ruling party at the polling stations uses the harshest expressions against the main opposition, perhaps the same or the next day, the foreign minister or the head of the intelligence department, as before, informs the leader of the main opposition about vital for the country.
The international conference "The door leading to peace in Syria", organized by the Republican People"s Party (RPP), should also be considered in this context: as the next orientation of the authorities by the opposition ...
The forum was organized by staff headed by a well-known ex-diplomat in Azerbaijan, former Turkish ambassador to Baku, deputy chair of the RNP on international issues, parliamentarian from Istanbul Unal Chevikyoz.
May all this may seem strange from Baku? The diplomat, who during the rule of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) was the Turkish ambassador to three countries, deputy head of the executive apparatus of the Foreign Ministry in Ankara, now defines the foreign policy of the opposition party! At the opening of the conference, a man is elected by the head of the Istanbul municipality from the main opposition party. Then, coming to the rostrum, the leader of the main opposition party informed the participants of the conference about Syrian politics, which he has been studying from 2011 to this day, read out a 5-point "proposal for a settlement" of the problem, after which he returned to his place and monitored before lunch discussions at the conference.
Who was the moderator of the first discussion panel? Yashar Yakysh, minister of the first government (then Abdullah Gul was prime minister) of the AKP, which came to power on November 3, 2002 (what a shame, it seems, in Baku many, from Fazail Agamali to Siyavush Novruzov, began to give out "error".)
Here are other leading discussion panels: Hikmet Cetin - Minister of Foreign Affairs in 1991-1994, Murat Karayalchyn - Minister of Foreign Affairs from November 1994 to March 1995 (as a former minister, he is ensured all rights), and the former Turkish ambassador to Baku Farouk Logoglu ("capture" by Turkish ambassadors in Baku of the main opposition party must have a deeply symbolic meaning).
Well, what was the purpose of holding an international conference on the Syrian issue by the leading opposition party?
Of course, the goal was to fulfill the main opposition party"s obligations to society, to which it is responsible. Where the concept of "state" is valid, effective, where its requirements are at least slightly respected, this is the first requirement of everyday political life.
From the very outset the main opposition party of Turkey repeatedly emphasized the fallacy of the "sectarian" government policy regarding Syria; the need for openness in relations with the legitimate administration of Damascus. At the same time it stated, "If the interests of the state require this, it is unacceptable for the ruling party to act in in accordance with its ideology" with the leadership of Egypt, who came to power through a military coup.
The international conference "The door leading to peace in Syria" held in Istanbul on September 28 became a kind of the highest chord of the Syrian policy of the main opposition party, which it has demonstrated over the past 8 years. The government took all necessary measures to hold this forum, which was not to the liking of radical religious terrorist organizations, in complete safety, and the leading opposition party ended the 9-hour conference, expressing its criticism in compliance with the requirement of political ethics.
I will not be able to complete this article if I do not write this: the parliamentarian from Malatia Veli Agababa, who played an important role in organizing the conference, thanked the municipality of Sariyer, managed by the RNP, and the owner of the hotel where the forum was held.
That is, the state ....
That is, the formula "Without the opposition of the state does not exist" ...
Discussing the government crisis in Belgium in one of our television programs, we asked our journalist friend Dirk Vermeiren: "We don"t see Your concern about the fact that for 2 years now there is no government in Your country. What is the reason?"
Here is Dirk"s answer: "I"m calm because we have a parliament and an opposition ..."
