A building will be relocated in Baku for the first time
The historic building, built in 1908, by the millionaire Isa Gadjinky at Fizuli, 39, will be relocated. Late this week, the Dutch company «Bresser Eurasia» will complete preparatory work for the relocation of the building.
At a press conference on Sunday, the head of this firm, Leon Sveeger, said the building will be relocated by 10.6 meters, and the project is the largest and heaviest building the company had ever run.
The length of the building is 52 meters, width is 35 meter, height is 20 meters and it weighs 18,000 tons.
Herman Bresser, the founder of the company «Bresser Eurasia», said that the relocation of the building is for two reasons: expansion of the road and the preservation of the monument of architecture.
He also said that to move the building, 210 hydraulic lifts have been installed beneath the building, with the help of which, the building will be elevated by a few millimeters, and moved 15 meters. The whole process will take five days.
All families living in the building have been relocated. The reason for their relocation is the construction of the Winter Park. Therefore, thousands of old houses in the area were demolished and more than 60,000 people were resettled.
Previously, at the same site, a dozen of similar architectural and historical buildings were demolished.-16B04-

Amid the bustling scenes of this year’s COP29 climate conference, a protest against whaling and deep-sea mining, organized by a group calling itself the FINS Initiative, drew significant attention from delegates and observers. However, questions have arisen about the legitimacy of the group, as an internet search yields little evidence of its existence beyond scattered mentions.
