Composition of judges recuse itself
The strange situation happened today at the trial in the case of the chief of the group of companies AMAY Abdulla Abdullayev. At the preparatory meeting in Baku Serious Crimes Court a judge Afgan Hajiyev said that the composition of judges have ruled on this issue in 2011, when the matter was considered by the Executive Director AMAY Elshan Novruzov. Now the same questions are in the case of Abdullayev. Therefore, the given composition of judges should not consider the case, and the judges recused themselves. Relevant appeal will be sent to the Court of Appeal and his decision will depend on the fate of the case.
The talk is about executives of the shopping center AMAY, who is accused of appropriation, embezzlement, abuse. In 2011, three employees of the center have already been sentenced to 8-10 years in prison; and in 2014 was arrested the chief of AMAY A.Abdullaev.
He is accused of the same sins. His lawyer Osman Kazimov told Turan agency, that there is not corpus delecti in the actions of Abdullayev. “All claims thereto, shall be resolved within the framework of the Civil Code and the Economic Court.”- 05C-
