Lawsuit due to the death of the journalist Rasim Aliyev
A lawsuit has been filed in connection with the death of the journalist Rasim Aliyev under the Article 126.3 (deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm resulting in death of the victim) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, a joint statement of the Interior Ministry and Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan.
According to a press release, "on 8 August at around 18:00 Baku resident, Rasim Aliyev Mammadalioglu born in 1984, was beaten by a group of unknown persons near the shop "Bail market" in the village of Bail." With numerous injuries he was placed in the city Clinical Medical Center; and on 9 August the journalist died from the injuries at 05:00.
The investigation department of the Baku City Prosecutor's Office filed a lawsuit under the Article 126.3 (deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm resulting in death of the victim.) A joint investigative team has been formed from the employees of the city prosecutor's office and the police.
Necessary and urgent investigative-operational measures to establish the causes and the full range of participants of the incident is ongoing. The investigation is under the special supervision of the Interior Ministry and Prosecutor General's leadership, reads the statement.
The journalist Rasim Aliyev was a member of the Institute of Reporters Freedom and Safety (IRFS) since its establishment in 2006. After the head of the IRFS, Emin Huseynov, since August last year was forced to hide from unwarranted prosecution, in the fall of 2014 the report-election conference elected Rasim Aliyev the chairman of the IRFS. The Ministry of Justice was officially warned of the change of leadership IRFS. Although in connection with the freezing the bank accounts, seizure of equipment and documents, and sealing the IRFS office projects of the organization were suspended, and Aliyev was no longer working there, before his death he remained the head of the institute.
Noteworthy is that the attack on the journalist coincided with the anniversary of a search in the office of the IRFS and seizure of its equipment and documents. -06B--

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
