Refresher training for religious leaders
On Tuesday, the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO) hosted an event dedicated to improving education courses for priests conducted for the first time.
The aim is to improve the quality of sermons and speeches of clerics, the use of religion to consolidate society.
"Teaching should be calculated not for today but for the future," said the head of the CMO Sheikh Pashazadeh.
According to him, the future of religion is in the hands of religious leaders. Pashazadeh recommended clergy to constantly work on improving their knowledge.
To conduct training courses specially constructed was a building of the mosque Taza Pir overlooking Nabat Khanum Ashurbeyli Street.
Classes will be run simultaneously for 50 religious leaders - representatives of both Shiite and Sunni branches of Islam.
The courses will be held for 3 weeks. At the same time, students will be provided with three meals a day and a dormitory and will be awarded certificates.
Each priest must take courses every three years.
Classes begin on May 14.
During the event they also noted eliminating separatist activities of currents in Islam, as well as fencing young people through religious education from the influence of radical movements.
There was also noted a need for the recognition of diplomas from Baku Islamic University. Although since 2009 reception at this school passes on the total test system, the graduates cannot continue their studies at universities in the master's and doctoral level.
