Sheikh: Aylisli insulted Heydar Aliyev
On Wednesday a meeting of the Scientific and Religious Council took place in the Caucasus Muslims Board (CMB.) The meeting participants discussed the scandalous novel by Akram Aylisli. Most of the speakers said that they did not read the novel; nevertheless, they are criticizing the writer for "insulting the national and spiritual values, and Heydar Aliyev's memory." In particular, Sheikh Pashazade called the novel "heresy," and its author - "an infidel."
In particular, the sheikh said that Aylisli deliberately insulted Heydar Aliyev in the novel, and did it "by the order of masters", but he did not specify who were the masters. Panelists made a proposal to deprive Aylisli of state awards “Glory" and "Istiqlal".
Director of the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences, Yagub Mahmudov, condemned the writer for distorting historical facts, and justification of the claims of Armenians to Nakhchivan. Head of the Baku Orthodox Church, Archbishop Alexander, also condemned the writer and called "this interpretation of the facts" unacceptable.
Theologian Wasim Mammadaliyev called the novel "Stone Dreams" fruit of a sick imagination. He called for the origins of this hatred of Aylisli to his people to be investigated. Nardaran resident, Hajiaga Nuriyev, expressed dissatisfaction with the episode of the novel, which mentioned a drunken ashug at a wedding party in Nardaran. At the same time, Nuriyev said that he did not read it, but his countrymen told him.
Finally, the CMB adopted a statement condemning the novel, calling it slander and libel, written by the order of enemies. -05C-
