
Term of Arrest of Leyla Yunus Extended for 5 Months
The Nasimi District Court of Baku extended for another 5 months the arrest of the human rights activist Leyla Yunus. Turan was told by the lawyer Elchin Gambarov.
In his view, there was no reason to extend the arrest, moreover, given that the investigative action is carried out.
On the other hand, the health of Yunus remains bad. Thus, the results of medical examination of Yunus by foreign physicians it is still not presented.
Now the term of arrest of Yunus has been extended until July 28.
Leyla Yunus was arrested on July 30, 2014 on charges of committing high treason and several economic crimes. She denies the charges and says they are politically motivated.
