Will be the law on protection of accusers of corruption be adopted?
Public Association «Transparency Azerbaijan» organized on Wednesday at the International Press Center the discussion of the document entitled: "Protection of persons identifying cases of corruption."
It was noted that the Azerbaijani authorities undertook to prepare a draft law on the protection of persons, to identify corruption. The draft law is to be prepared within the framework of the National Plan to combat corruption for 2012-2015. At the same time, it is hoped that the bill will still be accepted until the end of the year.
The author of the concept, an employee of the above association, Murad Mammadov spoke about the essence of the document. The main reason for the need to adopt this document is the danger of corruption for the state. Therefore it is necessary to protect individuals exposing corruption. In Romania, Slovenia, the UK and Luxembourg people exposing corruption are under the protection of the state.
In every state structures and private companies should operate specific departments or persons engaged in identification of the facts of corruption. Those who expose corruption and their family members should be under reliable protection of the state, Mammadov said.
The participants expressed satisfaction with the content of the adopted document, noting the need to adopt such a law. -05C04-
