Writers Union condemns Akram Aylisli
The Union of Writers of Azerbaijan issued a statement condemning the novel of the writer Akram Aylisli "Stone Dreams", which was published in the Russian magazine "Friendship of Peoples" (№ 12, 2012).
Distancing from the campaign of harassment Aylisli, the Union of Writers condemns protests outside his home, and calls for depriving him of his citizenship.
However, the Union shares the opinion that the novel "causes serious damage to the fair position of Azerbaijan in the Karabakh conflict, as well as the actions of the Azerbaijani diplomacy in the international arena." The Union believes that "it the novel is very weak from the artistic point of view, but it has a political significance." In this respect, the novel from beginning to end serves the Armenian policy, reads the the statement of the Union of Writers.—06D-
