Armenians Disrupt Presentation of Book by American Historian in Moscow
Moscow / 06/01/18 / Turan: The Armenian lobby in Russia disrupted the presentation ceremony of the book by the American historian Edward Erickson, "Turks and Armenians: a Study of the Fight against Insurgents." The presentation was scheduled for May 31 at the Moscow Books House.
Edward Erickson is a retired US Army officer, participant of the war in the Persian Gulf. He was a NATO official in Izmir, Naples and Sarajevo. In previous years he published several books, where he studied the events of the beginning of the 20th century in Ottoman Turkey.
In particular, Erickson highlighted the actions of the "Armenian Revolutionary Committees", which launched an armed rebellion against the Turkish authorities with the support of Russia and Western countries. The first edition of the book took place in the United States in 2013, and then in Turkey in 2015.
The Armenian public of Moscow appealed to the Prosecutor General's Office and the Investigation Committee of the Russian Federation, demanding not to allow the presentation of a book "distorting historical facts".
As a result, the Russian authorities exerted pressure on the organizers of the presentation, forcing them to abandon the event with the participation of the author of the book. -02D-

The unveiling of Miroshnychenko's rich book collection was more than a presentation—it was a triumphant reminder of literature's ability to unite nations.
