National Council does not want the return of the Minsk Group
Baku/08.26.21/Turan: Domestic media write that the National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF) allegedly supports the return of the OSCE Minsk Group (MG), since Azerbaijan is interested in the restoration of its activities. Allegedly, the National Council explains its position by the fact that this can put an end to Russia's dominance in the Karabakh issue.
The head of the National Council Jamil Hasanli commented this question in the "Difficult Question" program.
According to him, the National Council does not at all support the return of MG. Moreover, he considers the activity of this structure contrary to the national interests of Azerbaijan. “The mission of this structure was not at all the solution of the Karabakh problem, but the adaptation of Azerbaijan to the emerging status quo. The whole process was aimed at the fact that Azerbaijan was tied hand and foot, because it undertook to resolve the conflict exclusively by peaceful means. Guided by this, they constantly put pressure on Azerbaijan, preventing it from taking steps to liberate its territories,” he said.
According to Hasanli, MG did not even try to put pressure on the occupier. On the contrary, the MG called for reconciliation with the occupation regime. “They actually equalized the aggressor and the country under the occupation,” he stressed.
According to Hasanli, there is no doubt that after the 44-day war, as well as before it, MG has nothing to do here. MG's desire to return is an attempt to return to a policy aimed at dragging out the conflict, at adapting Azerbaijani society and the Azerbaijani leadership to the existing situation, he said. —0—
