Approximately 120 companies will be involved in the international exhibition
The 21st Azerbaijan International Healthcare Exhibition will take place at Baku Expo Center from 18 - 20 September. For 21 years, the exhibition has served as a platform for establishing business contacts and exchanging experience between professionals from medical institutions, suppliers of modern medical equipment, pharmacists, and academics, increasing the efficiency of Azerbaijan’s healthcare system. BIHE takes place with support from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan Dental Association, the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO), and the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organisations of the Azerbaijan Republic (ASK). The organisers are Iteca Caspian and its partner ITE Group. This year, around 60% of exhibitors will be international companies. Morethan 120 companies from 18 countries have confirmed their participation. The Czech Republic will present a national stand. For the first time, Russian pharmaceutical companies will present a group stand, supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. Aswellasinternationalmanufacturers, exhibitors will include majorlocaldistributorsofmedicalequipmentthat are partners to major global manufacturers. LocalexhibitorswillincludeARASHMedical, Besan, Vitta, Labservisand others.
This year, the exhibition will present medical and laboratory equipment, supplies, medicines, medical instruments and infant nutritional products. The exhibition will be accompanied by an online catalogue featuring innovations in various areas of medicine presented at the exhibition. The catalogue will include instruments for accurate and informative blood analysis, the latest devices for diagnosing diseases in foetuses, surgical chairs with various options to change the position of the patient, numerous new medicines and much more. The online catalogue of innovations will be made available on www.bihe.azin the week leading up to the exhibition.
The Medical Tourism sector continues to develop. This year, over 30 clinics, sanatoriums, treatment centres and companies from Georgia, Israel, Latvia and Turkey are expected to exhibit. For the first time, Turkish companies specialising in medical tourism will present a national stand. As well as international clinics, sanatoriums and leisure centres, the exhibition will also feature tourism companies that organise trips for treatment abroad. Thisyear, the Medical Tourism sector is supported by the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TURSAB).
Thisyear, the exhibition will be characterised by its broad business programme. The Current Issues in Cardiology conference will take place on 18 September, sponsored by KRKA Pharmaceuticals (Slovenia). On19 September, the 9th scientific and practical conference Modern Methods of Diagnostics and Treatment in Midwifery, Gynaecology and Neonatology will be held. Attheconference, whichissupportedbytheMinistry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijanand the Public Gynaecology and Perinatology Support Association, specialists will share their best practices. Another new aspect of the exhibition will be the organisation of B2B meetings in the Medical Tourism sector.-08D

Data on Azerbaijan's oil exports for January-October 2024 reveals a significant drop in both volume and value compared to the same period last year, highlighting the challenges facing the oil-dependent economy. The country exported 495,484.05 tons of oil products worth $309.02 million, a decrease of 40.3% in value and 40.7% in volume compared to 2023, when exports totaled 925,225.07 tons worth $572.21 million.
