CEC Registers Zahid Orudj as a Presidential Candidate

On September 9, the CEC registered MP Zahid Orudj, a self-promoter, as a presidential candidate.  Due to this initiative, Orudj was expelled from the "Ana Vatan" party, where he was a deputy chair. Previously, the "Ana Vatan" party announced that it supports the candidacy of Ilham Aliyev.

To date, the CEC has registered two other candidates for president - Ilham Aliyev, and Iqbal Aghazadeh, leader of the "Umid" party.

Over 20 people have submitted documents requesting registration as a presidential candidate.—06D—
