Jamil Hasanli, the recent presidential candidate of the united opposition of Azerbaijan, is on a visit to the United States. On Friday November 15, he met with U.S. congressman Jim Moran, Northern Virginia Democrat.
According to Azeri Report website, Jamil Hasanli discussed with Congressman Moran, the post-presidential election situation in Azerbaijan, the problems with political freedoms and human rights in the country. Jim Moran expressed his support for the cause of democracy in Azerbaijan. Jamil Hasanli noted that political freedom in Azerbaijan is on a steady decline and the least the international community could do under these conditions would be to put enough pressure on the Azerbaijani government to achieve the release of the political prisoners in the country. -025D-
