Movement for Democracy and Prosperity Urges Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan Not to Approve Results of Presidential Elections
Baku / 17.04.18 / Turan: Movement for Democracy and Prosperity (MDP) urged the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan not to approve the results of the extraordinary presidential elections on April 11.
The organization believes that by appointing extraordinary elections without any explanations and justifications, after holding virtually uncontested elections using financial and administrative resources and carrying out massive falsifications on the voting day, the country's leadership again usurped the power.
MDP claims not to recognize the election results and calls on the Constitutional Court not to approve the results.
MDP proposes to hold new elections in autumn after the release of political prisoners, removal of obstacles to the activities of the free press and independent institutions of civil society with financial transparency and accountability. -06d-
