Paradoxes of Policy: Due to Insult, Monument to Rasulzadeh Restored
The long-term neglect and even insults of Mamedemina Rasulzadeh, founder of the first independent Republic of Azerbaijan, led to the fact that his monument in Ganja was restored.
Due to the irresponsible behavior of the head of the city, Elmar Valiyev, the head of the Rasulzadeh bust was put on a black bag. This disgrace lasted three years, despite numerous appeals and calls to stop such disrespect to the historical figure.
In response to calls Valiyev just snapped and insulted the press and those, who required to bring the monument to a normal state. However, the manners of Valiyev were so contagious that the baton was taken over by his own deputy Nagif Hamzayev, who not only justified the bag on Rasulzadeh’s head, but also accused him of treason and corruption.
This statement of a young man, recently planted by the authorities in a parliamentary seat, has caused a storm of anger in social networks and stirred the country's leadership.
Some of the MPs called to revoke the parliamentary mandate of the young member of the ruling party and punish him.
As it became known this morning, Valiyev ordered to urgently clean the area around the monument to Rasulzadeh and remove the bag from the head of the founder of independent Azerbaijan.
However, what is happening is not just a figure of tyranny of the local rulers of Ganja, but more an evidence of the attitude of the authorities in Baku to the leaders of the Azerbaijan People's Republic. Without the approval of the Presidential Administration, Valiyev and his henchmen would have never dared to behave this way. -02B-
