Provocation from "Yandex" against Azerbaijan eliminated
Baku/03.12.18/Turan: False and abusive information about Azerbaijan on the "voice assistant" "Alice" of the Russian search engine "Yandex.ru" was excluded from the program after the intervention of the Azerbaijani diaspora and the State Committee for Work with Diaspora.
Chairman of the Azerbaijani community of Moscow, Shamil Tagiyev, urged the representatives of the diaspora to submit an application through the social network to the leadership of "Yandex." As a result of these protests, misinformation about Azerbaijan, placed in the Alice system, was eliminated, the State Committee said.
In the voice program developed for smartphones, Azerbaijan was represented as "a fictitious state created on the lands of Lezgins, Georgians and Armenians, and the name "Azerbaijanis" allegedly appeared in 1936."
It should be noted that one of the subdivisions of Yandex, Yandex-Taxi, is headed by an ethnic Armenian Tigran Khudaverdian.
In 2017, after a merger of "Yandex Taxi" with Uber, a representative of the Baku Transport Agency warned that if the company was headed by a citizen of Armenia or someone of Armenian nationality, their enterprise would suspend issuing drivers of the "badge of distinction", which previously allowed them to work with these companies, and urge all drivers not to cooperate with the new company.
For this reason, "Yandex Taxi" could not appear in Azerbaijan. -06D--
