Sumgayit branch of PFPA prepares for Sunday"s action
On Sunday the activists of Sumgayit city’s branch of the Popular Front Party (PFP) will hold a protest due to absence of conditions for political activity. The action is planned for 11:00 am at the monument to Nariman Narimanov, Turan was told by the head of Sumgayit Branch of PPFA, Kamaladdin Vilayatoglu.
According to him, the administration of the Sumgayit has not authorized the picket, as well as all previous opposition protests. According to the law, picketing can not be closer than 300 meters from the buildings of power organs and strategic facilities.
With regard to the purposes of the action, the organizers intend to pay attention to the suppression of political freedoms. The opposition members have no place to hold their activities, said Vilayatoglu. Five years ago, the authorities seized from the PFPA their office, and then from "Musavat".
"Then we began to gather in the office of "Umid"party, but they were also deprived of their premises. . The authorities make pressure on the owners of premises where we gather, and then the owners do not permit us to gather there, said Vilayatoglu.
