A.Orujlu: the US should not imitate dialogue
The Azerbaijani-American structure for democracy and human rights can be effective if it is represented by a real civil society, said in an interview with Turan Arastun Orujlu, the Head of the Research Center "East-West", commenting on the US Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland on the agreement on creation such a structure. Until now, the dialogue of the power with the opposition and civil society has an imitation character. "The country has always created a pseudo opposition parties and pro-government NGOs. And if the dialogue will be with them, the idea is worth nothing. I hope that the US will not go to such a "dialogue", because it not only serve the development of democracy, but also discredits the very concept of democracy," said Orujlu.
He recalled that such a "dialogue" used to be at the initiative of the Council of Europe. "However, because of the simulation, it had no effect, but also discredited the process, and caused distrust of the Council of Europe. I hope that the US will consider it," summed up Orujlu.-03B-
