Akif Alizade was reelected at the general meeting of ANAS
Baku / 08.06.18 / Turan: The General meeting of Azerbaijan"s National Academy of Sciences (ANSA) was held on June 8. President Akif Alizade made a report on the five-year activity of ANAS.
"The scientists of Azerbaijan should become the authors of the most up-to-date research in the field of cyber-physical systems, molecular biology, molecular genetics, bioinformatics, integrated use of technologies in life processes, cognitive psychology, psychophysics, artificial intelligence, neurobiology, neurophysiology and other scientific fields," he said.
During the discussions, the activities of the Presidium of ANAS in 2017 were deemed satisfactory, and the report was approved.
After the break, the President of ANAS and members of the Presidium of ANAS were elected at the general meeting.
Academician Akif Alizadeh was re-elected president of ANAS for another five-year term; 66 people took part in the voting. For the first time Akif Alizade was elected president of ANAS in 2013, before that he was vice-president of ANAS. -02D-

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony. The invitation, delivered by Member of the European Parliament Michael Bloss at the COP29 climate conference, comes as Ibadoglu remains under house arrest and prohibited from leaving Azerbaijan.
