Arrests in Surroundings of Former Head of Gadabay Region
Baku / 14.05.18 / Turan: In the past two days, the police arrested three more people, one way or another connected with Saleh Rustamov, who was the head of the executive power of the Gadabay district in 1992-93. Since 1997 he has lived in Russia and is engaged in business. He was arrested on May 8, when he came to his homeland for a relative's funeral and was accused of possession of drugs.
According to his brother Taleh Rustamov, on the same day the police detained his nephew Vidadi Rustamov in the Narimanov district of Baku.
On May 12, Vidadi"s cousin Azer Adamov was detained at the Baku airport upon arrival from Turkey.
On May 13, a citizen of Russia, a native of Gadabay Bahruz Tagiyev, was detained in Gadabay.
Relatives and friends are not given any information about the reasons for the arrests. "We do not know where our relatives are kept and what they are accused of. Lawyers are also not allowed to meet with the detainees," Taleh Rustamov told Turan.
Recall that the Narimanov court arrested Saleh Rustamov for 4 months on charges of possession and distribution of drugs on May 9.
