Citizens of Russian Federation Hold Picket in Front of Milli Majlis
Baku / 06.12.19 / Turan: Two families with Russian citizenship staged a picket in front of the Milli Majlis.
In an interview with Turan, Shodiev Mavlon and Yevonova Larisa said that they had traveled to Azerbaijan in their car, but passing through customs inspection during the declaration of property were deceived by customs officers, giving them their material values. Then a doctor in Baku deceived them. They cannot leave Azerbaijan because they are considered debtors in the database of the Customs Service. The family turned to the President, the Prosecutor’s Office, and the Russian Embassy, but did not receive help. They have no money for living, and they are fed by neighbors in the apartment where they temporarily live in Baku.
The second family, Gulnara Huseynova with her young daughter, was discharged from Russia, having arrived to live with her husband in Baku. But in Azerbaijan they do not give them citizenship, because of bureaucratic obstacles, Gulnara cannot get a job, and her daughter is not accepted to school. Her husband died, and the woman cannot receive pensions and benefits due to her lack of citizenship.
Gulnara complained to First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, but did not receive help from there. She was advised to go to court. The Embassy of the Russian Federation does not want to take part in the fate of the former Russian citizen.
Gulnara asks the Milli Majlis to provide them with financial assistance and help in obtaining citizenship, since the family has no means of livelihood. –0—
